Hey guys! Welcome back to my blogs! This weeks blog topic is on some of the lessons we learned from being in this CKTV Media Class. I have learned a lot of lessons in this class, but my top three would be to not procrastinate, I learned how to talk better in public, and I learned how to work better with people. These three lessons are really important and here are the reasons why.
Knowing how to not procrastinate and always have your work turned in on time is a great skill. When you get older and get a job you are going to want to know how to get your assignment turned in on time. Even in college you are going to want to turn in assignments in on time. If you have an assignment that is due in a week you shouldn't wait to the last minute to start it because you will have a bad grade. I learned this when I didn't start till later with my third quarter PSA and I didn't get the grade I could've had if I started earlier.
Being able to talk to people in public is a great skill. No matter if you are calling a school or doing a speech for an assignment, knowing how to talk to other people is a great skill. I personally learned this by calling different schools for inside scoops. At first I was nervous, but after a while I got better and learned how to do it better. This later helped when we needed to call to try set up a interview or call to do a project on a group. Also, it helped when I had to do a speech for the class.
My last lesson would be that I got better with working with other people. I learned how to help other people. I learned how to teach other people how to do things. If we had to work with a partner we always worked together and helped each other if we were struggling on something. This helped me in other classes too. This helped me when I had to work on a project for science and I had to work with a partner. We worked together to finish our project on time and got a good grade.
In conclusion, these lessons are really good. They help in many ways in life. This class has helped me in so many different ways that will always stay with me forever. I can always use these life lessons in every situation that may occur. These are probably the best lessons I will be able to learn throughout my whole life. Thanks for reading! Bye!
Hey guys! Welcome to my blog! This school year is really going by fast. It feels like we just started school yesterday. Since the end of the school year is coming up we have to start thinking about ideas for our family night video. I have made or helped with a bunch of great videos this year. Here are my top three videos I want to show at the family night.
My first choice would be the PSA I made for an STN fall challenge. I worked on it with Janine and Natalie and we got first place. It was a really great video. The topic for this challenge was good food equals a better mood. We worked really hard to get this done in 6 days. We all stayed up late and each put a lot of effort into this video.
My second choice would be my first quarter project which was a news story. I worked on this news story with Kai and Haley. We all put a lot of effort and got a good grade on it. The video shows a lot about the Japanese culture and how the Bon dance is very welcoming to everyone. It gives a big background story on how the Bon dances started and why they were important. This video had good shots and had nice audio.
My last choice would be our Vaping PSA we did for third quarter. I worked on that with Kai and Haley. We did a great job on this video. I would choose this because it gives a lot of important information about why vaping is bad and why you shouldn't do it. We have a lot of good clear shots that give great detail. Also our audio was really good.
These are my choices for our family night video. I have a lot of great choices and still can't choose which one. All my videos were done well so I have a hard decision to make this year. Well we will see what I choose. Thank you for and reading. Bye!
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blogs. It's been a while since we have had to do a blog, but we just got back from an amazing trip and we have to do a reflection on it. We have to write about what our highlights were from this amazing trip. Hope you enjoy!!
So, first of all over everything my favorite part was getting to experience snow again. I haven't experienced snow in a long time. From the time we landed everyone was so excited to play in the snow. It was also so cool to see the snow falling. I haven't seen snow in years. It was so cool to see everyone happy playing around in the snow. No one wanted to get out of the snow. We all played in the snow and had a great time. The worst part was when me and my friend were sliding down a hole of snow, I somehow ripped my jeans. It was super embarrassing in my opinion, but it was fine.
My second favorite part was getting to have the experience of STN, which is the best experience ever. I had such a great time. I didn't place in my competition, but I still had a great time. Our team did place 1st for crazy eights for news magazine. We haven't placed in that competition in such a long time so it was a great accomplishment to place in that.
My last but not least favorite part of the trip was bonding better with our group. I got to know everyone way better than I had before. I got to hang out with people I didn't really before. I got to learn so much new things about people. I loved getting to spend quality time with my best friends. I loved getting to know everyone better.
In conclusion, this STN trip was just as good as last year and maybe even better. Even though we didn't get to go to amusement parks we got to do so many things I never have done before. I got to see things I never have seen before. This STN trip was great and I can't wait to go on our trip next year.
Hey guys, welcome back to my blogs! Since it is a new quarter, this weeks topic is on new quarter new goals. Everyone should make goals for them selves to make them try to accomplish. Sometimes people have more goals then others and sometimes we have less. My 3 goals for this quarter is to not procrastinate, learn more about media so I can be prepared for STN, and get an A in media.
My first goal is to not procrastinate. I can accomplish this is by all my projects in on time. I should always have a draft done early so just in case my final draft isn't done in time I still have something good to turn in. Also I should make more then one draft for my script and video and post all of that every time to my site. I need to make sure everything is done on time because sometimes I wait till the last minute to post something to my website and it doesn't get graded or I get points knocked off because it is late..
My second goal is to learn more about media so I can be more prepared for STN. I can do this in the third quarter by asking questions about things so I know how to do it and how to do it the best possible way. Also, I can look things up if I need help with something, so I know how to do it correctly instead of doing it the wrong way every time. Lastly, I can volunteer to do more things so I get more hands on experience filming things.
My last goal is to get an A in media. I can do this by turning all of my work in on time. I can also make sure all of my work is done well so when I turn it in, it doesn't get a bad grade and bring my final grade down. I also can make sure my PSA is done well and get a good grade on that.
In conclusion I have a lot of goals, but I think these three goals are my top. I think every quarter I should to keep these goals but set new ones. All these goals can help a lot if you reach them and do them good. Thanks for reading my blog. Bye!
Hello! Welcome back to my blogs! Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. This blog will be about what I am thankful for. In this media class I feel like we are so privileged to get what we have. We get to do way more than most kids I know. The three things I am thankful for is my family, the whole media ohana, and all of my friends.
I am thankful for my family because they support me in everything I do. They have pushed me to do better in everything I try to do. They want me to succeed in life. My dad always drives me to baseball practice and takes me where ever I need to go for media. My mom helps me with my school work and supports me in media and baseball. I am grateful for them being by my side everyday.
My media ohana has helped me so much throughout my years so far in media. Last year my partner and the rest of the media class helped me get through last year. They helped me learn more so I was able to teach people this year. In this media class I feel like I have made a special bond with everyone in the class. I made great friends with the people and hope we stay friends for a long time.
Lastly, I am thankful for all of my friends. I am thankful for my friends because they are always there for me. When I am feeling down they help pick me up. My baseball friends help pick me up when I strike out or miss a play. In media I feel like I made the greatest friends ever. I feel like we all have a special bond.
In conclusion, I am thankful for so many things, but these are my top three. I have so many special things and people in life and hope that they will always help me. Media has been so fun and I have learned so much in it. Thanks for reading my blog. Bye!
Hey, welcome back to my blogs! We have already been through one whole quarter and a couple weeks into the second quarter. Last quarter was great, and I bet this quarter will be even better. For this blog we have to write about how this year has gone for us. Have we liked it and what are some things that are different. This year in media definitely has been different then last year, but it has been very fun too.
First off, this year in media has been different because we only have 13 students. Most second year students left, some sixth grade students left, and the eighth graders went onto high school. Only having 13 students means a lot more work. It means that we have to announce more, we have to do radios more often, and we have to do more behind the scenes morning announcements stuff. Having 13 kids in the class is good too. It is good because we get to have more chances to do more projects. We might get noticed or asked more to do extra credit projects. Also we get to bond more and we get to learn more about each other since we have less people.
Secondly, we don't have any sixth graders in our class. Having no sixth graders to me I think is a down side. I wish we had sixth graders so we could teach them at the very beginning so they will know what to do when we are gone. Now we will never have anymore third year students. The couple sixth graders from last year, including me, will be the last third year students ever. Having third year students are great because you get to learn something new every year. Also not being able to have sixth graders brings down the amount of students we have in our class.
Lastly, I feel like our class has bonded even better than last year. Last year we made a lot of students so I don't think we were able to bond as well. Also last year I don't think we bonded as well because we didn't do as much activities. We didn't do as much things to make us get to know each other. This year we did a lot of different activities. An activity that we did that I enjoyed was that we did work for an hour then we hung out and watched a movie. I like going and doing those things and hanging out together because we get to learn more about people. We get to learn more about what they like to do.
In conclusion, I think this year has had it's ups and downs. At first I thought this year wasn't going to be as fun since we had less people, but so far this year I've had a great year. I learned so much more since we had a smaller class. I've even enjoyed the class more then last year. Last year I didn't think it was as fun, but this year I really enjoy it. I think I enjoy it more because I've gotten to do more projects by myself so I got to learn more. This year has been so fun so far and I bet it will get even better as the year moves on!
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blogs. Its a new quarter and this weeks topic is new goals for our new quarter. Every quarter we have new goals. Sometimes we have more then others but sometimes we have less. My number 1 goal for this quarter is to never procrastinate. This was one of my goals for last year and I think I didn't accomplish this goal that well.
My first reason how I can accomplish this is by turning all my projects in on time. I can always have a draft done so just in case my project isn't done I have a draft done so I can turn it in on time. Also I should make more then one draft and post everything to my site. I need make sure everything is done on time because sometimes I wait till the last minute to post something to my website.
I can also accomplish this by writing all of my blogs on time. I normally wait till sunday just to write my blog and post it but I think I should try to post earlier during the week. This would help so I could get it out of the way because sometimes I have sports or more important things to do.
Lastly, I can accomplish this by making sure I get my radios done on time. Last quarter I had to do a radio and I forgot to work on my script and we turned it in late. I think I need to work on my script early and make sure my script is done on time. Also I would need to record and get it turned in one time so I can get a good grade.
In conclusion I have a lot of goals, but I think procrastination is my top goal. I think every quarter I should work on it but also I should have new goals. Procrastination is a big goal because it hurts everyone. If you turn a late project or homework it can affect your grade. Thanks for reading my blog. Bye!
Hey! Welcome back to my blogs. This weeks topic is toughest challenge. It wants us to talk about what our toughest challenge has been this year so far. My toughest challenge has probably been that I have procrastinated with a lot of my homework. This isn't just in media but in my other classes I have been waiting to do my homework last minute or doing it the night before. I will be talking about why this has been my toughest challenge so far.
My first reason why this has been the toughest challenge because it has showed in my grades. I forgot to do my homework one time or turned in an assignment late and it showed in my grades. It either brought my grade down a letter or just brought the percentage down. That is not good because I want to get good grades and by not doing my homework or turning it in late does not help. Also when I do poorly on an assignment, it shows in my grades. It normally brings it down. One time this year I did poorly on an assignment and it brought my grade down to a D and it was hard to bring it back up.
My second reason why procrastinating has been bad for me is because when something is very important and you either don't turn it in on time or wait till the last minute, the final job isn't normally that good. Like in media if we had a project that was due the next day and you were just starting your first draft. The project or video would not be good at all. When you wait till the day before its due your final product is not that good. Also in a normal class like math and you don't ever study your test result will not be as good. Or if you have homework and you wait till midnight to do it, your answers will probably be wrong and get a bad grade.
My last reason why procrastinating has been bad for me this year is that when you always wait till the last minute you get in a bad habit of doing the same thing over and over again. Like if you turn in a homework assignment late like more then 2 times then you probably get into the habit of turning them in late very time. If you always wait till the last minute to do something you will more then likely get into the habit of doing the same thing day after day or week after week.
In conclusion procrastinating is very bad and can do al lot of bad things. It can bring down your grades or get you into the habit of procrastinating day after day. Waiting till the very last minute is bad for everything because in whatever you do procrastination can bring you down.
Hey. Welcome back to my blogs. I hope everyone had a great summer. This is going to be my second year in the advanced media class. For this weeks blog topic we have to write about 3 goals we have for this year. My three goals are to turn in all of blogs on time and my radios, getting good grades on my quarterly projects, and last but not least learn more about media and get better in all the things I learned last year.
So my first goal is to turn in all of my blogs and radios on time. Last year I did not do so well on my blogs and radios. I did okay on my blogs but I want to turn them in earlier instead of waiting to the last minute. For my radios me and my partner last year did not turn my radios in on time. This year I will turn them in on time and get a good grade on every single one.
My second goal is to get good grades on all of my quarterly projects. I am going to do that by turning them in on time and not wait to the last minute. I will make 3 or 4 drafts so Mr. M doesn't have to only grade one and normally when you only have one draft you don't get as good of a grade. I will take Mr. M's ideas on how to make it better and fix the video and make it perfect.
My last goal is to learn more in media and get better at the things I learned last year. I can do this by practicing some new things Mr. M teaches us. And If any opportunity comes up for me I will take it and use all of my skills from last year to show them that I can take the opportunity.
In conclusion, I have a lot of goals and will accomplish them. I will do anything to make this year great. I will learn so much. Even though I learned a lot last year. This class helped so much last year, I have a feeling that this year will be even better. Thanks for reading my blog. Bye.
Hey guys! Welcome back to my blogs. For this weeks blog I will be writing about my top three lessons that I have learned from being in the CKTV media class this year. I have learned a lot but my top three most important lessons are meeting deadlines, always try to improve, and never procrastinate. Hope you enjoy my blog!
My first lesson is to meet deadlines. That is an important lesson to me because if ever in life you needed to finish something and most of the times you will have a deadline so making sure that thing is on time is very important. That project might be a grade or just a class assignment but just incase the thing is important make sure it is on time.
My second lesson I learned is that always try to improve. This is important because if you ever make a video or project for a grade you are probably going to want to make your project better. You should have a couple of drafts and make them better every time. For a video you should film, edit, and then make it better. You should always make sure things are better when you have to do projects.
My last lesson I learned is to never procrastinate. This is important because procrastinating is bad and when you do procrastinate it always turns out bad. You can turn in your project late if you do or just be late with whatever you are doing. Even if you do procrastinate you should make it up and still turn it even if it is late.
I have learned a lot of lessons this and I have learned just a lot of things in CKTV. This year has been really great and have learned things that I will keep with me for life. These lessons are so important so everyone should listen to these and follow them because if you do you will do great in life.
My name is Evan and this is my first year in the CKTV Media Ohana. I really love it so far and cannot wait for more too come. My partner is Kai and Haley
