My first quarter with the CKTV media ohana was great. I got to learn so many great things. It was great to be part of the cktv media ohana. It was great because I got to learn how to bond with others and I got to make better friends with kids from other schools. For this blog we have to write about what we learned in our first quarter. Hope you enjoy!
First, I learned how to change the settings on different cameras. When we went to kokee for our media camp I learned how to change the aperture on the camera and what aperture is. Aperture is how much sunlight is let into the picture. Also I learned how to use the light balance and the different types of settings you can use with that.
Second, I learned how to shoot sequences. I learned that you always need sequencing in your videos or pictures. You need it because it can tell a story in you story. For example you could first have a wide shot of the people or where something is. Then you can do a cut in to the person talking. Lastly, you can do a cut away to something important but that is not showing in the picture.
Lastly, I learned how to shoot B-Roll and why it is important. B-Roll is something that captures footage of what the interviewee was talking about. It tells a great story and helps the video become better.
In conclusion, just in the first quarter I learned so much. I can't wait to see what the following quarters bring me. Bye!
